The Tango son ET is a poster pin up for our sponsors Carr and Day and Martin , look out for his advert!

Hayley and “Jacob ” did there first psg this week and won! It’s a bit of a milestone as he hasn’t always been the easiest, however he seems to be finally settling !

16.2 gelding 6 yrs , very promising international dressage prospect , qualified for all the 6 yr old championships , qualified winter champs novice 2015 , regionals elementary 2015 ,now ready for medium, started changes.

Licensed stallion by Sir Shutterfly 4 yrs , 16.2 easy in all ways , super talented, carefull with loads of scope , this young man has all it takes to reach the top sport.

Our homebred 4 year old stallion won with a massive 80% in his first ever outing! With the highest score of the evening not only did he win his class he but was also champion young horse with a margin of 5%. Unfortunately as he is British bred and licensed with the AES he missed out on his invite to the final held in Holland. The evening was super special for Hayley Colwell as she had previously won the Novice at the Winter Championships here with his sire Furst Kiss, who has since been sold to the U.S.

A few pictures from our recent Masterclass presented by Astrid Bolton and Emma Hindle, held here within our indoor arena at Astrid Bolton Sport Horses, Mere Court Stud.

Hayley Colwell introduces Lenny, our 5 yr old 17.1 hh gelding who came to us at the end of June this year in very poor condition and lacking in not only strength and training but also manners!

On the 10th of October after approximately 4 months on Maximise, Foundation & Synoflex, Lenny long legs (as I like to call him!) was looking semi ready for his first competition. We decided to take him to the BD show at Crow Wood equestrian centre under his show name “Cassius”. Astrid and I thought we would run him in a novice class to see how his training and mental attitude was developing, he went brilliantly and won with over 71% a very good first start.

As the winter qualification for regionals closes on the 30th of November we thought that gaining 20 points before then was slim, especially with Astrid away for the next 2 weeks and myself 5 days after that. However after taking Lenny to a show on the 31st October he had another win and a second place with plus 70% scores, then an appearance at the  Day, Son & Hewitt Masterclass with Astrid & Geoff Billington(a great night!) on the 2nd of November. Astrid set me the mission impossible task of not only gaining my winter novice points but also to get my 18 elementary points as well!

I love a challenge and entered the next 6 shows leading up to the end of qualification with the 7th show on the 30th of November! Pushing it I know but come Feb/March when the regional finals are here Lenny will be ready and if we didn’t try I knew how mad I would be.

Just to complicate matters I decided to try to qualify him for the Novice & Elementary freestyle to music classes, bearing in mind I have never contested in these classes and needed to arrange two floor plans and music. With the help of Astrid videoing my floor plans and my brilliant partner Rob Bartlett composing the music in record time ,we went off to our first freestyle competition on the 17th November.

Lenny did it, winning with a personal best score for me of 81.11%, even scoring a 10 for one of his movements in the test, an incredible achievement for a horse of any age. To add to this he also won the Elementary class straight after with another +70% score, more winter points!

Coming into the weekend of the 24/25th November we just needed 4 points in an Elementary and a top 3 placing in the Elementary music, so off to Myerscough College we went. Lenny is becoming a little super star and rising to every challenge we set him. He managed to win the Novice class with a massive 76.92%, the Elementary with 69.29% on Saturday, then on Sunday winning the Elementary freestyle with over 75% ! This horse really is special and an exciting prospect for the future. My task was complete Lenny and I are now qualified for 4 classes at winter regionals 2013, MISSION POSSIBLE!!!!!!

Esanto is a 4 year old riding horse who Joanne bought from Astrid Bolton 9 months ago when moving away from ponies and entering the horses. With Joanne being heavily involved in working hunter ponies from a young age, a riding horse was a big change, but change brought Esanto. Within 4 outings Esanto had won every class entered and excelled himself at the 2013 Aintree National Showing Show where he stood Supreme of Show against a very heavily contested championship.

Esanto is fed on Maximise and Foundation to help keep a healthy digestive system and a well balanced diet. It is important with a four year old not to rush, so foundation has done a brilliant job in helping with the maintenance of his condition. He is also fed long term on Maximise which helps to supplement a healthy diet.

esanto maximise and foundation“When people look at Esanto he looks like a top quality riding horse, with great movement and good manners, when they then find out he is only 4 years old and has only been in the ring a handful of times, we all cant help but imagine how fantastic he will be in a couple of years time when he has matured and has fully found himself. The important thing to do in the waiting period is to continue with the maintenance of his diet to allow him to be as healthy as possible, especially whilst he is at his winning ways. Maximise and Foundation and sure the products to be helping me to do so!”

In case you missed it, earlier this month we invited Geoff Billington to join us, along with Astrid Bolton, at the Myerscough Equine Arena.

The evening started with some very entertaining and informative demonstrations from Astrid and Hayley, which finished with some great questions from our audience. Following Astrid and Hayley’s section, it was time for a quick round of refreshments at the Equine Arena’s onsite restaurant and bar.

During the interval, we got a chance to chat one-to-one with many of you and we noticed one product in particular that had generated a lot of interest on the night, which was Maximise®, our premium digestive enhancer.

We’ve had some great feedback from our customers (Astrid being no exception!) about Maximise® – it’s great for helping to build the condition of a horse, and can help relieve gastric discomfort, thanks to the inclusion of Meadowsweet and peppermint.

After the break, Geoff took to the arena and managed to entertain us for well over an hour. Geoff took the time to carefully explain what he was doing for each jump, making the evening’s finale just as informative as it was entertaining.
